Biography
Selin Yeninci began her career as a child actor, selected by Turkey’s national channel TRT, and trained at Karşıyaka Municipality Theatre. During her high school years, she expanded her experience by performing in theatre, hosting live broadcasts, and doing voice-over work for numerous films, TV series, and cartoons.
While studying Acting at 9 Eylül University’s Theatre Main Art Department, Selin participated in international acting workshops in London and Amsterdam, further honing her craft. Her professional stage debut came with Don Juan’s Night at Haluk Bilginer’s renowned Oyun Atölyesi, where her performance earned her a nomination for the Sadri Alışık Theatre Awards in the Best Comedy Musical category.
Her acting career spans numerous acclaimed TV series and films, including Burning
Days, which premiered in the Un Certain Regard category at the Cannes Film Festival,
and the globally popular Bitter Land, broadcast in over 50 countries. Her portrayal of
Saniye in Bitter Land became a cultural phenomenon, particularly in Italy and Latin
America.
Selin has been recognized as a RISING STAR at the New York Turkish Film Festival and has represented Turkey at prestigious international events such as the Cannes Film Festival and the European Parliament, where she was invited for her role in Burning Days. She has also been a featured guest on Italy’s TV5 Verissimo, achieving record breaking viewership.
As the founder of SY Entertainment, Selin plays a vital role in promoting innovative platform-drama content at international content fairs, including Content Americas, Natpe, and MIPCOM. She has also served as a jury member at numerous esteemed film festivals and was recently selected as a jury member for the International Emmy Awards.
In recognition of her contributions to the arts, Selin was named a Young Society Leader by The American Turkish Society. Currently based in Los Angeles, she continues to work as an actress and producer, leaving her mark on the global stage with her artistic achievements and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Served as a main jury member at various film festivals including the International Emmy Awards 2024, International Dystopia Film Festival, and International Ankara Film Festival.
